Schumann Digital Flexo

Beginning in the early 1970's, Ray Schumann and Associates, Inc. has offered our customers the finest quality analog flexographic printing plates available. For over 30 years, we have expanded and upgraded our flexo plate making capabilities to meet the needs of our customers.
But analog flexo plates are the past.
Digital is the future and it is here now.

In late 2003, Ray Schumann and Associates made the jump to digital flexo by installing one of the first CDI (Cyrel Digital Imager) in the Midwest, and the first of its kind in St. Louis.
The Schumann Digital Flexo Workflow incorporates state of the art technologies from ESKO Graphics (CDI Cyrel Digital Imager), DuPont (Cyrel Digital Flexographic Plate Material, Cyrel FAST dry thermal plate processing, CromaPro XP inkjet proofing system), and Artwork Systems (ArtPro and NexusRIP). These technologies combine to create a powerful digital flexo workflow offering the absolute best quality flexo plate available.

No Film! How does it work?
The digital flexo plate has a black carbon mask layer that is sensitized to the CDI's laser light on the top of its surface. After imaging, this mask takes the place of a traditional film negative. The plate is then exposed and is ready for processing. Because the image carrier is integrated onto the plate material, image deterioration by UV light absorption and scattering with film exposed systems is eliminated, giving the digital flexo plate a sharper image with steeper relief shoulders.

Available Digital Flexo Material:
.067 DFM, DFH, DPL, DPR, DPU
